Plastic Recycling Research Cluster

The Plastic Recycling Research Cluster (PRRC), a dynamic and collaborative initiative dedicated to advancing the field of plastic recycling. The PRRC is based at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan campus (UBCO) and brings together multidisciplinary expertise from academia, industry, government, and non-profit organizations to address the pressing challenges and opportunities in plastic waste management.

Mission

Our mission is to drive innovation and research in plastic recycling technologies, processes, and policies to create a sustainable and circular economy for plastics. We aim to develop and disseminate knowledge, foster collaboration, and provide evidence-based solutions that contribute to reducing plastic pollution and promoting a more sustainable future.

Vision

The Plastic Recycling Research Cluster (PRRC) envisions a world where plastic waste is effectively managed, and a circular economy for plastics is realized. Our vision is to be at the forefront of research and innovation, driving transformative changes in plastic recycling technologies, policies, and practices. Through collaboration, education, and evidence-based solutions, we aim to minimize plastic pollution, create a sustainable and circular economy, Inform Policy and Regulations, Foster Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange and Inspire Global Impact. Through our collective vision and concerted efforts, we aim to transform the plastic recycling landscape, paving the way for a sustainable future where plastics are effectively recycled, and their environmental footprint is minimized.
